Dr Ali Khan

Dr Ali Khan is a true local Nephrologist and is employed as a staff specialist at the Royal Darwin Hospital. He has been in the Northern Territory since 2001 and has completed the majority of his training in Darwin.

Dr Khan grew up in Darwin and graduated from the Casuarina Senior College in 2010. Thereafter, he completed Medical Training through Flinders University (NT) in 2016. He commenced physician training to become a nephrologist in 2017 and has also worked extensively within the Nephrology teams in Central Australia and Metropolitan South Australia. Dr Khan has a wealth of experience in all aspects of kidney health, his key interests include patient education, reducing chronic kidney disease progression, nephrologist led renal interventions and, kidney transplantation. He has presented his research pertaining to improving outcomes post kidney transplantation on numerous platforms, including a national conference. Dr Khan also has a keen interest in teaching and has been involved with training medical students and postgraduates throughout his career.

When not working, Dr Khan enjoys all that the Territory has to offer, including the markets, enjoying sunsets on the beach with the family and his 2 dogs. He is also a cricket fanatic and a photography enthusiast.
