Dr Benjamin Beer

Dr Ben Beer is an Australian-trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon who offers comprehensive treatment of adult and adolescent spine conditions including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar disease. Dr Beer was trained in Queensland, where he completed the Australian Orthopaedic Association training program. After obtaining his FRACS, Dr Beer underwent further sub-specialty training with two spinal fellowships. During his training, Dr Beer gained valuable insights under the ‘Godfather’ of Australian spinal surgery Dr Geoff Askin and also world renowned Gold Coast spine surgeon Professor Matthew Scott-Young, into the treatment of complex adult and children’s spinal conditions. Ben enjoys treating the full spectrum of acute spinal conditions and a wide range of elective presentations. He is most interested in relieving patients of pain and returning them to their functional goals. This includes back pain, sciatica, neck and arm pain.

Dr Beer is attentive and caring with a personal approach to his work and each of his patients. This empathetic approach has been shaped by his close friend having suffered a spinal injury in their formative years. His ethos is to diagnose precisely and match the best treatment to achieve his and his patients’ shared goals.
