Dr Blossom Mak

Dr Blossom Mak is a consultant Medical Oncologist with a particular focus on treating breast, gynaecological and genitourinary cancers. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2010 and continued her specialist medical oncology training at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Concord Hospital. She is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr Mak is passionate about clinical and translational research and was awarded a PhD from the University of Sydney on lipidomic biomarkers in advanced prostate cancer. She has presented her research at national and international conferences as well as successfully published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. She currently works as a research fellow at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, supporting the running and reporting of international clinical trials that aim to improve cancer treatment.

Alongside her clinical and research work, Dr Mak is keenly involved with teaching and mentoring junior doctors and students. She also participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure she provides evidence-based best practice tailored for the individual patient.

Dr Mak is committed to providing compassionate patient-centred care. She works closely with patients, their families, and a wide team of healthcare professionals to ensure that each person receives the best possible support throughout their cancer treatment.
