Dr Christiaan Yu

Dr Christiaan Yu is a highly regarded respiratory and sleep medicine specialist dedicated to delivering personalised, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

He graduated from the University of Melbourne and completed advanced training at leading tertiary hospitals in Victoria. He previously served as a staff specialist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and is an adjunct lecturer at Monash University.

Dr Yu has held the role of respiratory representative on the specialist panel for the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs. He has served on committees of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand and was Chair of the Advanced Training Subcommittee for the Australasian Sleep Association.

He maintains an active academic profile with over 30 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts, has presented at national and international conferences, and was selected as one of only three young investigators from Australia and New Zealand for a prestigious global respiratory leadership forum.

His clinical expertise covers a wide range of pulmonary and sleep disorders, including airways diseases, chronic cough, lung cancer, and sleep disorders. He is proficient in interventional procedures such as flexible bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). Dr Yu played a key role in establishing the EBUS service at Knox Private Hospital, improving lung cancer diagnostics and supporting Australia’s National Lung Cancer Screening Program (launched 1 July 2025 for earlier detection in high-risk individuals).

He is fluent in English and Mandarin.
