Dr Duncan McLellan

Dr Duncan McLellan is the Head of Department, Microbiology at Western Diagnostic Pathology. He also works as a Consultant Infectious Diseases Physician at FSH, Mount Hospital, SJOG Murdoch and Joondalup Health Campus. Dr Duncan McLellan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1991 (MB BS). He undertook Physician training (sub-speciality of Infectious Diseases – FRACP 2001) at Royal Perth Hospital and the University of Tennessee, USA. Dr McLellan also trained in Clinical Microbiology at Royal Perth Hospital, SCGH and PathWest (FRCPA 2004).

His specialist interests includes Management of surgical infectious diseases, osteoarticular infections, complex genitourinary infection, HIV, Pyrexia of unknown origin and infections in the returned traveller. Dr McLellan is also actively involved in Antimicrobial Stewardship and the management and prevention of antibiotic resistant bacterial infections. Dr McLellan is a member of the Mount Hospital Infection Prevention and Control Committee and the MAC.
