Dr Genevieve Bishop is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with over a decade of experience providing compassionate and personalised care to women of all ages.

Dr Bishop provides a caring approach and offers individualised holistic care at all stages of a woman’s life. She believes in a woman centred approach when providing the best evidence- based care in both Obstetrics and gynaecology.

Gynecologically, she has a particular interest in pelvic floor disorders in both young and older females. Her interest in incontinence and pelvic floor disorders acknowledges the devastating effect it can have on a woman’s life no matter how big or small and issue it may be. She strives to treat her patients with appropriate management both medically and surgically to help them achieve and optimal and fulfilling life.

Dr Bishop also manages menopause and perimenopausal concerns, abnormal pap smears, contraceptive advice, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, post menopausal bleeding and vulval disorders.

Dr Bishop understands that patients can often be distressed by results and is happy to be contacted directly to arrange urgent appointments.

Obstetrically She has extensive experience in both high- and low-risk pregnancies. She advocates for all birth types, emphasising a safe and empowering experience for mothers. Dr Bishop also provides preconception counselling and pregnancy planning.

Dr Bishop attended Sydney University where she obtained a Bachelors in Science with Honours in Psychology. She then continued her studies at Sydney University where she obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. After 2 years at Concord Hospital, during which time she also obtained a Masters of Public Health from UNSW, she began her career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

While she did the majority of her training for her RANZCOG fellowship at RPAH, she also pursued her interest in urogynaecology and incontinence with a specialist year at St George Hospital, working in the internationally renowned Pelvic Floor Unit.

In 2015 Dr Bishop relocated to Qld where she set a successful private practice in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology for seven years. Upon her return to NSW she has worked in a variety of locations, whilst also taking time to study at the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine obtaining her Diploma in Tropical Medicine.
