Dr Gregory Makin

Mr Gregory Makin is a Consultant Colorectal & General Surgeon, with over 20 years of experience. He graduated from The University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1991. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1999, demonstrating his commitment to professional growth and excellence in surgical practice.

Mr Makin's area of expertise lies in minimally invasive colorectal surgery, having performed laparoscopic resections for over 20 years and now performing robotic colorectal surgery. Both of these approaches offer numerous benefits to patients including smaller incisions, reduced pain, and faster recovery. He is also highly skilled in colonoscopy and trans-anal endoscopic microsurgery, the latter which allows for the removal of rectal lesions without the need for major surgery.

As a General Surgeon, Mr Makin has extensive experience in managing a wide range of surgical conditions which includes hernia, gallbladder and acute general surgeries. He provides personalized care to each patient, taking the time to listen to their concerns, and develop a customized treatment plan that aligns with their individual needs and goals. Mr Makin’s compassionate approach is well-regarded by his patients, who appreciate his ability to explain complex medical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
