Dr Kevin Rajakariar

Dr Kevin Rajakariar is an Interventional and General Cardiologist, as well as a dual-trained General Physician. He graduated from Monash University in 2012, before completing his basic physician training in 2016, followed by advanced general medicine training in which he successfully obtained fellowship in 2020. He undertook further advanced cardiology training at Eastern Health, Bendigo Health and Austin Health, gaining broad experience in the management of complex cardiovascular disease.

Kevin then completed two further years of subspecialty fellowship training in interventional cardiology at the Victorian Heart Hospital, with a focus on complex and high-risk coronary intervention. His expertise includes percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), calcium modification techniques, and the management of complex coronary anatomy.

He has a strong interest in coronary physiology and comprehensive invasive assessment of ischaemic heart disease, including fractional flow reserve (FFR) studies, assessment of microvascular dysfunction, coronary vasospasm testing, and right heart catheterisation. He is also experienced in advanced intravascular imaging modalities including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), supporting precise procedural planning and optimisation.

Kevin is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred cardiovascular care, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and contemporary interventional techniques. He works collaboratively with referring practitioners and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.
