Dr Kirsty Campbell is a specialist Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist who completed her training between Royal Darwin Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide.  Prior to this, she undertook her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at James Cook University in Townsville, having been born and raised in rural Tropical North Queensland.  She has been a staff specialist at Royal Darwin Hospital since 2017 and is currently the Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology.  She joined Ologist in 2021.

As a General Gastroenterologist, Dr Campbell is competent in managing conditions across the breadth of her speciality, with her areas of interest including liver diseases, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal disease in pregnancy and bowel cancer screening and surveillance.

Dr. Campbell also has an interest in Iron Deficiency, both in terms of investigating for causes of deficiency and also replacing iron including through an IV infusion, on site at Ologist.

She is actively involved in medical education, teaching medical students and junior doctors and is the Regional Examiner for the RACP Clinical Examination in Darwin and sits on the RACP College Learning Series committee.   She is very passionate about improving access to health care for those living in regional and rural Australia and was a founding member of the Young Gastroenterology Society of Australia and is currently a Founding Co-Chair of the Rural and Regional Special Interest Group within the Gastroenterology Society of Australia.  She also sits of the Specialist Training Pathway committee.
