Dr Kristen Overton

Dr Kristen Overton obtained her medical degree from the Australian National University.  She completed her training as a specialist in infectious diseases, training at hospitals across New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Kristen is a Fellow of the Royal Australasia College of Physicians, and has completed a Masters in Public Health and Tropical Medicine and has a PhD in antimicrobial resistance through the University of New South Wales.

Since obtaining her fellowship Kristen has been working as a staff specialist at Prince of Wales Hospital, where she is currently the Head of Department. Kristen also consults at Prince of Wales Private, and her rooms are located in Coogee. Kristen is passionate about the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all infections that can affect the human body. Her areas of expertise are blood-borne viruses, infections in immunosuppressed patients, COVID-19 and post operative infections.

When not working, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family at the beach, going for walks with her dog or catching up with friends over a meal.
