Dr Laila Khan is a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at The Canberra Hospital and at National Capital Private Hospital who specialises in various areas of Cardiology including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, hyperlipidaemia, and preventative care. Her particular interest lies in Echocardiography/stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography. Dr Khan is committed to delivery of personalised and top-quality care.
Dr Khan completed her Cardiology Advanced Training at the prestigious Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane which is the largest quarternary Cardiac Centre in Australia. She went onto complete an Advanced Echocardiography Fellowship at Gold Coast University Hospital where she was the inaugural Echocardiography Fellow and won the 14th Echo Hong Kong Young Cardiologists/Fellow Echo case competition in 2023.
Dr Khan has a great interest in Perioperative Medicine having completed a Masters of Medicine at Monash University in 2022.
Dr Khan presented at the 2nd Non-valvular structural cardiac interventions conference in 2024 and will present as Faculty at the Monash University Basic Physician Training Cardiology Course for 2024 in Melbourne.
Dr Khan is a Supervisor for Cardiology Advanced Trainees at The Canberra Hospital and is heavily involved in RACP training for junior doctors.
Dr Khan is an active member of CSANZ, the American Society of Echocardiography and the Australian Heart Foundation.
Dr Khan has a special interest in both valvular and non-valvular structural interventions, infective endocarditis where she chairs the multidisciplinary meeting at the Canberra Hospital.
