Dr Leon Chen

Dr Leon Chen is a general neurologist with a subspecialty interest in stroke/ vascular neurology. He also has experience in managing a broad range of other conditions like epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, headaches, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathies.

He undertook neurology training in Sydney (Campbelltown Hospital) and the Central Coast (Gosford Hospital), before completing a stroke/ vascular neurology fellowship at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney.

In addition to his role at the Northern Beaches Hospital, he runs a clinic service through Northern Beaches Neurology and also lends his expertise as a visiting medical specialist in hospitals across Cairns, Darwin, Launceston, and Rockingham. He was recently a visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Gosford Hospital.

He has an interest in the mentoring and education of students and trainees in the field, and is a conjoint lecturer with the University of Newcastle.

He is a member of the Australia New Zealand Association of Neurologists, Australasian Stroke Academy and International Movement Disorder Society.
