Dr Luke Gibson

Dr Luke Gibson is a specialist urologist with advanced fellowship training in reconstructive and functional urology and uro-oncology. He completed his medical degree through Monash University in 2010 followed by specialty urology training (FRACS) through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Follwing completion of his training, Dr. Gibson completed  two fellowships at the University of Calgary and the Southern Alberta Institute of Urology, gaining experience in complex urinary tract reconstruction, prosthetic surgery, bladder dysfunction, and urological cancers. This included a broad mixture of endoscopic, open and laparoscopic/robotic approaches to urological conditions. In addition to his subspecialty interests, Dr. Gibson maintains strong interests in all aspects of general urology, including the management of kidney stones and benign prostate enlargement.

Dr. Gibson returned to Australia in 2024 and now maintains a mixed public and private practice. He is the current supervisor of training at the Royal Hobart Hospital and remains dedicated to advancing urological care through ongoing education, research, and the application of contemporary surgical techniques.
