Dr Mina Sarofim

Dr Mina Sarofim is a caring and highly skilled Colorectal and General Surgeon, university lecturer and clinical researcher, who strives to achieve excellent outcomes for his patients.

Dr Mina Sarofim graduated with Distinction from the University of NSW before completing a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney. He went on to complete Australia’s most prestigious and highly selective training programs in General and Colorectal Surgery. After attaining Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS), Dr Sarofim pursued advanced subspecialty training to develop expertise in complex colorectal cancer treatment and minimally invasive surgery. This included a Fellowship at Australia’s largest Peritoneal Malignancy Unit at St George Hospital Sydney, as well as Colorectal Surgery Fellowships at Royal North Shore, Liverpool, and Westmead Hospitals, to be awarded Membership of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ).

Dr Sarofim is at the forefront of surgical research and academic leadership. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals with a focus on colorectal cancer, artificial intelligence in surgery, and development of novel operative techniques. His research excellence has been recognised through competitive grant funding from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and General Surgeons Australia. Dr Sarofim is also a highly regarded lecturer at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney, where he is actively involved in mentoring medical students and training junior doctors undertaking their Master of Surgery degrees.
