Dr. Muntaser Musameh is a highly experienced cardiologist and interventionist specializing in diagnosing and managing a range of cardiac conditions, including chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, hypertension, syncope, and heart failure. He has a particular focus on coronary angiography and complex coronary interventions, such as stent placements, as well as intravascular imaging techniques like IVUS and OCT.
Dr. Musameh earned his medical degree (MD) from Al-Quds University in Jerusalem. Following his internship, he pursued a major research project in the UK, which culminated in a PhD from University College London. He then completed his core medical training and cardiology specialization at the University Hospitals of Leicester. His work was recognized with a National Institute of Health Research Lectureship, allowing him to continue his research while specializing in cardiology, leading to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals.
After his specialist training, Dr. Musameh secured the prestigious British Cardiovascular Intervention Society Fellowship, which allowed him to advance his expertise in coronary and structural cardiac interventions at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia. There, he refined his skills in managing complex coronary artery disease and performing structural interventions, including TAVI, PFO, and ASD closures.
Dr. Musameh introduced rotational atherectomy, an advanced technique for managing calcified coronary lesions, at Mackay Base Hospital in North Queensland. He led the heart failure service there for two years, significantly enhancing service quality and patient satisfaction.
Currently, Dr. Musameh practices in Canberra, where he provides high-quality, patient-centered care, leveraging his extensive training, expertise, and dedication to excellence.
