Dr Ojas Mehta is an experienced Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist. He has trained extensively both locally and internationally and routinely treats complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and implants & manages simple and complex cardiac devices.
After graduating through The University of Melbourne Medical School, Ojas completed his physician training in Melbourne. He undertook basic physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and further Cardiology training at Monash Medical Centre, Frankston and Bendigo hospitals. He performed a local Cardiac pacing and Electrophysiology fellowship at Alfred and Monash hospitals. He then pursued an overseas fellowship in Advanced Cardiac device implantation and Electrophysiology in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. With extensive clinical training both locally and overseas, he brings with him novel approaches & procedural techniques to treat cardiac rhythm disorders. He implants a range of CIEDs (Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices) and regularly performs conduction system pacing, a method of capturing the natural wiring system of the heart. He offers cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT), and implants leadless and subcutaneous devices in addition to conventional loop recorders, pacemakers or defibrillators.
Ojas performs Electrophysiology studies and catheter ablation, treating complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. He also performs venous alcohol ablation, a novel technique in order to treat challenging cases of atrial fibrillation and premature ventricular complexes.
He provides evidence-based care that matters to your personal situation. He sees a Doctor-Patient relationship as a partnership to empower patients and steer them into their best version of health.
Ojas actively engages in an advisory manner to consultancy firms and medical device companies. He carries a Master of Science in Computational Data Analytics and has a keen interest in the intersection between data and clinical decision making.
