Dr Paul Lambrakis

Dr Paul Lambrakis has been working as a doctor for over 20 years and has developed excellent clinical skills and surgical expertise throughout this time. He recognised a passion for and aptitude towards a career in surgery early in his medical school years and was fortunate to be able to explore and develop this passion throughout medical school. His formal surgical training was through the Western Sydney Network of surgical teaching hospitals and provided him with a huge exposure to surgical care in metropolitan hospitals across Sydney and Canberra and a large number of rural centres. Dr Lambrakis obtained his formal surgical fellowship qualifications through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons specialising in General Surgery. He as a post fellowship training in Acute General Surgery and Endocrine Surgery and extensive experience in Trauma, Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery.

Dr Paul Lambrakis has strong interpersonal skills, and he is considered by his peers and trainees to be an excellent communicator and teacher. He is committed to ongoing surgical education and training and has a Conjoint Lecturer appointment at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Lambrakis has a special interest in the management of surgical emergencies and his dedication to this field has allowed him to develop exceptional skills in the operative management of complex abdominal cases and master advanced laparoscopic skills. This experience has also created the foundations of his specialisation in Acute Care Surgery and Trauma. Dr Paul Lambrakis is currently the Deputy Director of the Acute Care Surgical Unit at Liverpool Hospital and prides himself on providing seamless and streamlined care to all his patients in both private and public sectors.
