Dr Prajith Jeyaprakash

Dr Prajith Jeyaprakash is an internationally trained Interventional Cardiologist and clinical academic. He practises at Nepean Public and Nepean Private Hospitals and offers no gap procedures for coronary angiography and intervention.

After obtaining his Cardiology fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Physicians, He completed a PhD with the University of Sydney which included running a multicentre randomised trial investigating the role of therapeutic ultrasound in life-threatening heart attack. He was supported for this work by a highly competitive Heart Foundation PhD scholarship, and was a finalist at the internationally renowned Arthur Weyman Young investigator award in Seattle, USA.

He has also completed an interventional fellowship at King’s College hospital in London, where he was trained in complex intervention including bifurcation, left main, shock support, CTO and advanced calcium modification therapies. Through his PHD and interventional fellowship, Prajith has gained significant exposure to microvascular assessment used to assist with diagnosing patients that have microvascular angina.

Having grown up in Emu Plains at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Prajith is proud to now service the community that has shaped his passion for helping those in need. He is a patient centred cardiologist with a keen interest in coronary intervention and cardiovascular research. He continues to be actively involved in cardiac research across the world having published in high impact factor peer reviewed journals, and has a particular interest in biostatistics having obtained a Masters of Medicine in Clinical Epidemiology in 2019.
