Dr Rajith Mendis

Dr Rajith Mendis is a Head & Neck surgeon and Surgical Oncologist with extensive subspecialty training in a range of head and neck, and endocrine conditions including reconstruction.

After obtaining his MBBS from UNSW he undertook general surgical training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2019. In 2020- 2021 he undertook training as the Head and Neck and Surgical Oncology fellow at Westmead hospital. He completed further postfellowship training in Head and Neck and microvascular reconstruction at Wollongong hospital in 2022 and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse hospital in 2023.

He has a public appointment at Westmead hospital where he actively participates in the Head and Neck MDT, Melanoma MDT, Thyroid MDT and Sarcoma MDT. He also operates Chris O'Brien Lifehouse hospital.

Dr Mendis is a member of General Surgeons Australia (GSA), Australia and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES) and Australia and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society (ANZHNCS). He has published widely in peer reviewed journals, authored book chapters and is actively involved in training, education and research.
