Dr Rudyard Wake is a consultant General Surgeon servicing Southern Tasmania. He has interest in minimally invasive Colorectal, Emergency and General surgery, for both benign and malignant conditions. He performs a wide range of General Surgery including gallbladder and hernia operations.
Rudyard graduated from Flinders Medical School in Adelaide in 2009 and completed his surgical training at The Canberra Hospital in 2019. He went on to complete a further 3 years of post fellowship training at The Canberra Hospital in Colorectal Surgery and Emergency Surgery.
He is appointed as a Staff Specialist General Surgeon at The Royal Hobart Hospital in Colorectal and Emergency Surgery. He is the Clinical Lead for Emergency Surgery. Rudyard also has private rooms at Rosny Park
He has a specific interest in minimally invasive Colorectal and Emergency Surgery for malignant and benign conditions including IBD and is expert in the management of a wide range of General Surgical conditions including gallstone disease, diverticular disease, bowel obstructions, perianal disease and abdominal wall hernias, as well as minor procedures.
Rudyard is thrilled to have finally been able to settle in Hobart and make this beautiful city the permanent base for his young family.
