Dr Ryan Cranney

Ryan is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence based, individualised care for women.

He grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales before moving to Tasmania to study medicine. It was there that he developed not only his love for obstetrics and gynaecology, but also his love for his future wife and the beautiful state of Tassie.

After completing his medical degree, Ryan returned to New South Wales to undertake specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He completed his RANZCOG fellowship primarily through John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, gaining extensive experience in high-risk obstetrics as well as a broad range of gynaecological conditions.

Ryan is committed to building strong, respectful relationships with his patients and believes the best care comes from listening and understanding each woman’s individual needs and preferences. He strives to create a supportive, reassuring environment where patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care.

His clinical interests include both low and high-risk pregnancy care, as well as general gynaecology with an interest in fibroids, endometriosis and laparoscopic surgery.

Outside of medicine, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and two dogs, and exploring all that Tassie has to offer.
