Dr Sam Hwang is an Australian trained Paediatric and Adult Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, with subspecialty fellowship training in thyroid/parathyroid, head and neck, robotic and reconstructive surgery.
Dr Hwang grew up in Sydney and obtained his medical degree at the University of New South Wales. He then completed training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, which included rotations in paediatric ENT at both Sydney and Westmead Children's Hospitals and extensive training in sinus surgery at Concord Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2022.
After completing his training, Dr Hwang completed a prestigious international fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Alberta, where he was mentored by world leaders in head and neck surgery.
In addition to his ENT expertise, Dr Hwang is actively involved in teaching and research, having held associate lecturer positions at UNSW. He has published widely and has presented at multiple international and national conferences. Dr Hwang is excited to offer his patients the latest evidence-based techniques in ENT surgery.
Dr Hwang is a member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS), Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS).
