Dr Chandran’s career spans 3 continents and multiple prestigious organisations. She graduated from the University of Melbourne and moved to UK to undertake her internship and physician training before moving back to Australia to pursue training in nephrology at Monash Medical Centre and St Vincent Hospital. She has completed a PhD in renal transplantation at Monash Medical Centre followed by a transplant fellowship at the prestigious Toronto General Hospital.
Dr Chandran has received multiple national and international awards and scholarships and published in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Dr Chandran is a keen medical adovate and has a passion for medical education. She is President-elect of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).She previously served as board director of Leongatha Hospital and Kerang District Health. She led the creation and delivery of the inaugural leadership course of RACP.
Dr Chandran was previously the program director of the annual educational course of the Society of Nephrology of Australia and New Zealand (ANZSN). She teaches medical students at the University of Melbourne and is currently completing a Master in Clinical Education. Dr Chandran`s well rounded experience acquired at leading international institutions, allows her to offer a culturally sensitive, empathic and patient-centered approach on any nephrology and general medical issue
