Dr Tim Karbowiak is an Austrlaian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialty focus on hand and wrist surgery. He holds a Medical Degree from the University of New England (2013), a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (2008), and a Masters of Traumatology (2017) from the University of Newcastle.
Dr Karbowiak completed subspecialty fellowship training in hand and wrist surgery at Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London (2024), followed by a further fellowship at St Vincents Hospital in Melbourne (2025), further refining his expertise in complex hand and wrist conditions with a special interest in arthroscopy, ligamentous injuries of the hand and wrist and carpal fractures.
Dr Karbowiak holds public appointments at John Hunter Hospital in the Hand Unit, and Maitland Public Hospital in the Orthopaedic department. He sees public patients in clinics at both these sites. He consults privately and sees workers compensation, DVA and third party at the Hand Surgery Centre at Newcastle Private Hospital.
