Dr Tina Ahluwalia is a Neurologist working in Canberra, with a special interest in movement disorders, epilepsy, stroke and chronic headache conditions. She is an expert in the clinical application of Botox for a range of neurological presentations, including chronic headaches and cervical dystonia.
Dr Ahluwalia has extensive clinical and research experience from her career in Australia, but also from India where she worked as a Consultant in adult medicine with a specific interest in neurology, neuro-critical care, and acute stroke medicine. She has conducted many phase-II, randomised, control trials in neurology as a co-investigator and has published research papers as the lead author and co-author in leading international neurological journals. She has also worked as a peer-reviewed for research journals such as the BMC (Neurology).
Dr Ahluwalia was awarded the James Mcleod Advanced Trainee Award at the ANZAN ASM in 2022 for her research work presented and performed during the clinical years of her RACP advanced training in Neurology. She won the ACT Physician Training Committee Commendation Certificate in 2019 for her work at Calvary Public Hospital Bruce and the ACT Trainee Network of Adult Medicine.
She served on the RACP Board as a Director representing specialist trainees from May 2020 – May 2022 and was involved in establishing the Wellbeing Committee of the RACP. Dr Ahluwalia has also worked in the College Trainees Committee (CTC-RACP) as an ex-officio board member from 2020-2022 and is a Member of the Adult Medicine Division Council (AMD-RACP) since 2020.
Dr Ahluwalia is an ex-Staff Specialist Neurologist at the Canberra Hospital, and now working in private practice with admitting rights as a VMO to National Capital Private Hospital.
