Dr. Burridge will be engaged in providing clinical care for adults and adolescents aged 13 - 34. Perinatal patients of all ages.

Dr Dwain Burridge is a dedicated psychiatrist and recent Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. His passion for psychiatry stems from a deep and abiding commitment to helping individuals, couples and families take steps towards recovery and goals that matter to them.

Dr Burridge graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours from the University of Western Australia in 2009, and continued his medical studies at the University of Notre Dame, Western Australia. His strong academic and extracurricular achievements, along with his interview performance, earned him a scholarship as one of the top medical school applicants. He went on to receive various awards as a medical student, including the Knights of Malta Prize for medical philosophy. As a junior psychiatry trainee he was selected as the highest ranked registrar applicant to the Gold Coast Hospital Mental Health Specialist Services in 2018 and was the ‘preferred candidate’ at Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services in 2020. Additionally, he holds an academic title of Lecturer at Griffith University School of Medicine, where he contributes to the education of medical students.

Dr Burridge possesses broad clinical experience in both inpatient and community mental health services, and has worked across five Australian states and at almost a dozen mental health services and hospitals. He has completed two years of Advanced Training in child and adolescent psychiatry and three years of Core Training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), focusing on addressing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety spectrum disorders, unresolved attachment disturbances, and PTSD.

Please note: Dr Burridge is presently unable to accommodate Medicare item 291 referrals from GPs.

Dr Burridge has closed his books to ADHD referrals until 2025.

Dr Burridge is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and is keen to support the Pine Rivers community with empathetic and evidence-based treatment.
