Dr Elizabeth Brown

Sleep Disorders, Respiratory Medicine

Dr Elizabeth Brown is a respiratory and sleep physician with an interest in orthodontic treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea and non respiratory sleep disorders including insomnia, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy.  Her respiratory interests include total control of asthma with an emphasis on education and implementation of an asthma action plan, bronchiectasis and suppurative lung diseases and management of chronic cough.  She is in the process of formalizing a patient centred cystic fibrosis service at Prince of Wales Hospital.  

Elizabeth graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1999 and completed the FRACP with sleep and respiratory training at Prince of Wales Hospital in 2006.  In 2006 she became a conjoint associate lecturer at UNSW and she continues to be involved in teaching medical students and FRACP candidates.  She undertook further education in sleep medicine and was awarded level 2 sleep in 2009 as well as completing her PhD in neuromuscular activation and mechanics of the upper airway in obstructive sleep apnoea at Neurosciences Research Australia, Randwick, in 2012.  She was awarded the ResMed Foundations Scholarship by the RACP in 2008.
