Dr Elizabeth Shaw is a Structural and Interventional Cardiologist who has a special interest in valvular heart disease and heart disease in women. She is the first female Cardiologist to be accredited to perform Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantations (TAVIs) in Australia. She also has a special interest in chest pain and ischaemic heart disease. She completed her specialist training at Royal North Shore Hospital, after which she completed her interventional training at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. She also completed a structural heart fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in the United States.
Dr Shaw is an organising committee member of the Australia and New Zealand Endovasular Therapies Meeting and is passionate about encouraging young doctors to pursue their chosen profession. She is a co-founding director of Shore Cardiology and a founding member of the Women in Interventional Cardiology of Australia and New Zealand group.
Dr Shaw is the director of Cardiology at the Sydney Adventist hospital and also works as a staff specialist in Cardiology at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and is a Cardiologist at Northern Beaches Hospital.
Dr Shaw consults patients at her Shaw Cardiology rooms located in Wahroonga.
