A/Prof Eoin Jude O'dwyer

Cardiology

Eoin holds a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Analytical Chemistry (1st Hons) from University College Cork, Ireland. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with MB, BCh, BAO (1st Hons) along with Licentiates from the Royal College of Physicians (LRCP&SI). Having completed Senior House Officer Training in Dublin he commenced his Physician Training at St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney in 2012 and completed his advanced Training in Cardiology there in 2018.

Eoin is currently the Clinical Director of Adult Medicine and a Cardiologist at the Northern Beaches Hospital and holds an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine appointment with Macquarie University. His areas of interest include HIV medicine and its impact on cardiovascular health – he has published extensively in this area and presented at international conferences. Other areas of interest include inflammatory arthropathies and early atherosclerotic disease as well as the effects of anabolic steroids on the heart and sports medicine for which he is currently undertaking research with the University of Sydney. Eoin has completed a research fellowships in HIV imaging at St. Vincents Hospital as well as a fellowship in advanced cardiac Imaging at the Royal Prince Alfred Sydney.
