Dr Fernando Infante Torres

Dr Fernando Infante is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist working in the Northern Beaches for more than five years, since becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG). He takes a holistic approach to healthcare that is firmly woman-centred, while at the same time being evidence-based. Fernando’s caring and compassionate approach is matched with enormous respect for his patients’ autonomy and decision-making. He believes that being able to assist a woman through motherhood is a great honour and privilege.

He completed his medical degree at the prestigious School of Medicine of the University Universidad del Valle in Colombia. Having delivered more than fifty babies by the time of his graduation, Fernando realised that his life vocation was in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G). He worked in General Practice for two years before migrating to Australia in 2000. He then completed a Master of Public Health at UNSW in 2002 and worked in General Practice Research until 2003. In 2004 he resumed clinical practice in Australia, solely dedicated to O&G since 2005.

In 2015 Dr Infante joined Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals as a Staff Specialist and VMO in O&G, making the transition to the new Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) in late 2018. He remains strongly committed to public service, running the Next Birth After Caesarean Section antenatal clinic, as well as mentoring RANZCOG trainees and junior doctors. He has been the medical lead for Clinical Governance within the Maternity Unit at NBH. His private practice is conveniently located in Frenchs Forest, in close proximity to NBH. He consults in English and Spanish.
