Urology

Frank was born and raised in West-Germany. He graduated from the University of Muenster in Germany in 1999 and was then awarded Doctor of Medicine in 2002. In 2004 he finished his postgraduate training in urology at the Klinikum Dortmund, Germany. Together with his wife Lynn he immigrated to Tasmania in February 2005 and the couple now has 4 lovely boys who call Hobart home. In 2007 Frank obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and has since held appointments at Hobart Private Hospital, Calvary Hospital and the Royal Hobart Hospital. He is a member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), German Urological Society (DGU), and European Association of Urology (EAU) and served as the elected Tasmanian Representative Director on the Board of Directors of USANZ from 2015-2018. He has been regularly involved in research projects for prostate cancer with the University of Tasmania and was instrumental in the introduction of complete laparoscopic upper urinary tract operations and green-light laser prostatectomy at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Frank acts as a proctor for the prostate Urolift procedure and more recently has been offering advanced robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery for various urological indications.
