A/Prof Gareth Wynn

Associate Professor Gareth Wynn trained in the UK, completing a Doctor of Medicine (Research) degree at Imperial College London, before moving to Melbourne for an advanced Electrophysiology and Pacing Fellowship. He has an interest in patient-centred clinical research, particularly in atrial fibrillation and his research is cited in current international guidelines. His research won him the British Heart Rhythm Society’s Young Investigator Award as well as awards from the British Cardiovascular Society and British Heart Foundation. Gareth focuses on the management of heart rhythm disorders, performing EP studies, ablations and pacemaker/ defibrillator implantation.

He is a consultant cardiologist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and is one of only two cardiologists in Victoria accredited to extract chronically implanted pacemakers and defibrillators.
