As a gynaecologist, Dr Gene-Lyn Ngian provides comprehensive care for women at every stage of life.

At Empower Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Gene-Lyn provides a range of gynaecological services including management of heavy and abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain and cervical screening abnormalities. She offers counselling regarding contraception and fertility. Gene-Lyn operates at Northpark Private Hospital and Warringal Private Hospital with a focus on laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.

Gene-Lyn’s work at the Mercy Hospital for Women allows her to offer care to a broad spectrum of patients and train future generations of doctors. Her participation in hospital meetings and audits, as well as attendance at conferences and surgical courses means she is up to date with current best-practice care. Gene-Lyn takes the time to understand what’s important to you and tailors medical advice to your priorities.

Outside of work, her two children keep her on her toes.  Gene-Lyn always has a project on the go, be it knitting a jumper (okay, she might never finish that), tending to her sourdough starter, trying out a new recipe or working on her kitchen garden.

Expertise:

Gene-Lyn graduated from the University of Melbourne and has since worked and trained in Melbourne’s northeast. She completed most of her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Mercy Hospital for Women. Since becoming a specialist, she worked at the Northern Hospital until 2018 and ongoing at the Mercy Hospital for Women. Wanting to develop her understanding of menopause and assisted reproduction, Gene-Lyn has also undertaken a Masters of Reproductive Medicine.
