Assoc Prof Gordon Senator graduated from Melbourne University in 1975 with an additional degree in medical science and achieved further recognition (MRACP) by examination. He completed Australian-recognised accredited advanced training in Diabetes/Endocrinology and Internal Medicine (MRCP UK) in the UK. A/Prof Senator returned to Australia to establish the first tertiary-level endocrinology department at the Royal Hobart Hospital in 1980.
Assoc Prof Senator has accepted appointments by World Health Organisation and International Diabetes Foundation which includes plenary lectures and public health programs and ongoing development of ICD classification in his area of expertise, as well as National Health and Medical Research Council appointments including expert panels in diabetes. He was elected four times to the Executive of the Australia Diabetes Society where he was involved in the unification of Diabetes Australia (elected an Honorary Life Member) and initiated the National Diabetes Services Scheme.
Assoc Prof Senator has been practicing on the Gold Coast for the past 24 years and his primary practice is conveniently located in the heart of Southport. The practice provides quality patient care for assessment, management, monitoring and ongoing treatment of endocrine disorders.
