Prof Guy Van Hazel

Dr Guy van Hazel is a medical oncologist with extensive experience treating a range of cancers including:

• Colorectal and GI cancers
• Lung cancer
• Prostate cancer
• Melanoma

He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine and Pharmacology, University of Western Australia and is a consultant medical oncologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Having practiced in Australia and the USA he has been a lead investigator for several international clinical trials and Principal Investigator for over 100 clinical trials locally. He is a speaker at national and international meetings and has authored or co-authored scientific articles in the Annals of Oncology, European Journal of Cancer, British Journal of Cancer, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Gastrointestinal Cancer, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research.

As a key opinion leader in oncology, Professor van Hazel has sat on many advisory boards and professional committees. He is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of Cancer Research, Australian/New Zealand Breast Cancer Study Group, Australian Gastrointestinal Trials Group and the European Society of Medical Oncology. He is a designated investigator of the US National Cancer Institute (NIH).
