Dr Helen Crowther

Dr Helen Crowther is a Haematologist at Westmead and Blacktown Hospitals as well as Senior Lecturer in Haematology at the University of Western Sydney.

Helen was a graduate of the first year of the Sydney University Graduate Medical Program and completed most of her post graduate training in Western Sydney. Following completion of her FRACP and FRCPA she had the opportunity to spend some time in Toronto in the area of red cell disorders and thrombosis. She is currently a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Values, Ethics and Law in Medicine, University of Sydney where she is writing a thesis on the process of evidence integration in medical decision making in patients with haemoglobinopathies.

Helen has also undertaken research into the health, services and quality of life of patients with haemoglobinopathies in NSW.
