Mr Henry Yao

Mr Henry Yao is a Urological surgeon at Knox Private Hospital, with a particular clinical interest in uro-oncology, minimally invasive surgery (robotic and laparoscopic surgery) and reconstructive urology. His practice is focused on providing depth of expertise in both uro-oncology as well as male and female functional urological issues. 

Henry completed his undergraduate medical degree at The University of Melbourne with first class honours and undertook urology training in Melbourne. He completed a year of training at Western Health as the Advanced Laparoscopic and General Urology Fellow followed by fellowship training in Robotic Surgery and Uro-oncology in the UK, where he worked in a high-volume cancer specialist referral centre. Henry subsequently completed a Reconstructive and Functional Urology fellowship at The University of Calgary in Canada.

Henry maintains a strong interest in medical research and has published 36 peer-reviewed journal articles to date. His main research interest is in the area of cancer survivorship and improving the quality of life for cancer patients. In addition to his research interests, Henry is actively involved in the supervision of students completing research degrees.
