Dr El-Sokkari is an Australian trained cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist. He completed his training through the Royal Australasian college of physicians (RACP) at Major tertiary hospitals in Australia – Prince of Wales, Gosford and Royal North Shore Hospitals. He obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013 becoming a general cardiologist before embarking on further advanced training in cardiac electrophysiology. This included three years of training in cardiac electrophysiology at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney and Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, Canada. Dr El-Sokkari returned to Australia following his overseas fellowship in 2018 as a consultant cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, before being appointed as a cardiac electrophysiologist at Nepean Hospital in 2020. Upon his appointment, Dr El-Sokkari lead the expansion of the cardiac electrophysiology services at Nepean Hospital where more complex arrhythmias are currently being treated locally in Penrith. Dr El-Sokkari has a keen interest in research, he obtained a master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney in 2014 and was involved in many research projects leading to multiple presentations and publications nationally and internationally. Dr El-Sokkari consults in his private rooms in Penrith and performs his procedures at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
