Dr El-Sokkari is an internationally trained cardiac electrophysiologist. He is the director of cardiac electrophysiology services in Nepean Public and Private Hospitals. He is experienced in managing all aspects of general cardiology as well as cardiac electrophysiology.
After obtaining his cardiology fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he pursued further training in cardiac electrophysiology in Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Canada. After returning to Australia, he established the cardiac electrophysiology unit at Nepean Public and Private Hospitals where complex ablations are now being performed routinely using 3D mapping systems, Cryoballoon ablation as well as Pulse Field Ablation.
Dr El-Sokkari offers NO GAP procedures at Nepean Private Hospital including ablations for various cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation (AF), Atrial Flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) and Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs)); as well as cardiac device implantation (implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy).
Dr El-Sokkari has a keen interest in research, he obtained a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Sydney and was involved in many research projects leading to multiple presentations and publications nationally and internationally. He is a keen teacher, regularly teaching medical students and junior doctors and regularly involved in educational sessions for GPs. He is a clinical senior lecturer with the University of Sydney.
