Dr James Fenney Lynam

Dr James Lynam commenced his practice in Newcastle in 2014 and works as the Clinical Director of Medical Oncology at the Calvary Mater as well as working in private practice with us at Newcastle Private Hospital.  He spend two years as a Fellow in Clinical Trials at the Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne and during that time he gained experience in the conduct of clinical trials and was involved in research examining the interaction between the immune system and prostate cancer.  He has been Principal Investigator for many local, national and international trials and is the current Chair of the Clinical Research Network.  This network aims to introduce strategies and innovations to improve clinical trial conduct within the Clinical Trial Units in the Hunter region.  In addition, James has an interest and first hand experience in research related to predictive biomarkers, therapeutic drug monitoring, implementation of novel information technology into cancer care and pyschosocial impacts of disease and treatment on patients.
