Dr James Xu is a Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist who graduated from the University of Sydney Medical School in 2009. He completed his Cardiology training at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney and has since then devoted his career to complex high-risk minimally-invasive coronary interventions.
In pursuit of excellence, Dr. Xu was awarded an Australian Government research scholarship to pursue a PhD in Medicine which he successfully completed through the University of New South Wales. This achievement led to numerous high-impact publications, research grants, and research prizes. To stay at the forefront of advances in complex coronary interventions, Dr. Xu completed a highly competitive advanced CHIP/CTO Fellowship at the prestigious Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at Northwell Health, New York, USA.
Currently, Dr. Xu is appointed as a Staff Specialist Cardiologist at Liverpool Hospital, Sydney, where he serves as the Director of Post-graduate Training in Cardiology. He is also a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, and is deeply committed to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, actively contributing to the development of future healthcare leaders.
Dr. Xu's research interests are focused on the latest advancements in acute coronary syndrome, coronary physiology, microvascular dysfunction, coronary atherectomy, and chronic total occlusions. His extensive training and expertise in these areas ensure that his patients receive the highest level of care.
