Dr John Bou-Samra

Dr John Bou-Samra is trained as both a Physician and Cardiologist and has been providing high quality cardiology care to patients on the Gold Coast since 1994. He is the founder of GC HeartCare where he leads a skilled team to provide diagnostic imaging services and consultations.

He completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland and further completed his advanced training in cardiology at the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Cardiologists and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography.

​John has over 30 years’ experience managing patients with complex heart disease including Complex Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy and has a particular clinical interest in pacing, AICD’s, angiography and diagnostic imaging. He has previously been involved in various research trials and publications specifically dealing with these diseases.

John has spent a large part of his career involved in the professional mentorship and training of both medical students and future cardiologists as well as nursing staff at various hospitals and GP's as an invited speaker at meetings. He is also involved in providing regular telehealth consultations for remote patients in various locations both nationally and internationally.
