Dr John Killen

Dr John Paul Killen completed his MB, BS at the University of NSW in 1999 and has been caring for patients with kidney conditions for more than ten years. He is also an experienced General Physician. John’s particular interests are in hypertension management, perioperative care of patients with kidney disease, vascular access and anaemia management in patients with chronic kidney disease. He is involved in the lecturing and teaching of medical students through university appointments, and supervision and training of advanced trainee registrars in renal medicine. John has contributed to well-known textbooks in Dialysis including the most recent edition of the Handbook of Dialysis as well as numerous publications in
nephrology journals.

His research interests involve treatments aimed at improving cardiovascular outcomes of patients with chronic kidney disease and vascular access outcomes of patients on dialysis.
