John is a general and interventional cardiologist specialising in complex coronary intervention, structural heart procedures and adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). After graduating from the University of Melbourne, John trained in five of Melbourne’s leading cardiology units including St. Vincent’s Hospital, The University Hospital Geelong, Box Hill Hospital, The Alfred Hospital and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
He then completed a two-year interventional cardiology fellowship at Monash Heart, where he performed over 1100 coronary interventions as well as a range of structural procedures. John then travelled to Canada where he undertook a Structural and ACHD Interventional Fellowship at The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and Toronto Congenital Cardiac Centre for Adults, Toronto General Hospital. John has published research in leading journals and presented at national and international meetings.
He has a particular interest in the utilization of advanced imaging technologies and invasive physiological assessment to perform 'Precision PCI' which improves patient care and outcomes. He believes in holistic patient care developing advanced stroke prevention strategies with your neurologist including PFO and ASD closure as well as left atrial appendage occlusion.
