Dr Johnny Efendy

Dr. Efendy received his first degree in Bachelor of Science with first class honors from the University of Queensland. He completed his Medical Degree in 2003 and helped to develop the school of anatomy for Griffith University.

Dr. Efendy received the Justin-Miller medal for his work in the vascular surgery division of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

He continued his interest in neurosurgery, receiving further advanced training in the management of brain, spine and peripheral nerve pathology under various neurosurgeons in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney. He has also attended the Neurosurgery units in Singapore and Germany for further development in his neurosurgical training.

His main interests are in endoscopic assisted micro neurosurgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. He also has interests in remote neurosurgery services including management of cerebral and spinal infections in the tropics.

Dr. Efendy has moved to the NT where he has been actively involved with setting up a Neurosurgery service in Darwin with his colleague Dr Michael Redmond.
