Dr Jon Anderson has a special interest in knee injuries:
· Knee arthroscopy (meniscus and cartilage surgery)
· ACL reconstruction
· Knee joint replacement (partial and total)
· Osteotomy
Dr Jon Anderson is a locally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in sports knee injuries, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), meniscus and cartilage injuries. He also treats degenerative knee and hip conditions from joint preservation to joint replacement.
Dr Anderson works in private practice at the Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre (BOSMC) located at the Brisbane Private Hospital. He also holds a public appointment at the Mater Adults Hospital, South Brisbane.
He was educated in Brisbane and obtained his medical degree from the Australian National University. He completed sub-speciality training in orthopaedics throughout Queensland. Dr Anderson undertook further specialist training in the treatment and management of sports orthopaedics and knee surgery as the Sports Medicine Fellow at the Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre (BOSMC) under the supervision of Dr Peter Myers and Dr Tim McMeniman. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a Member of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
Dr Anderson maintains an active mentoring role in orthopaedic teaching and research, as an Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland. He actively attends clinical meetings having presented research both nationally and internationally. He has a strong clinical research interest in the operative and non-operative management of athletes and their injuries. He is currently completing his PhD at The University of Queensland investigating ACL outcomes in Australia with international collaborations.
