Dr Jonathan Lipton

Dr Jonathan Lipton is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital, specializing in the management of complex heart rhythm disorders. After earning his PhD at the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands, he completed advanced sub-specialty training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital. A pioneer in regional health services, Dr. Lipton established the first comprehensive electrophysiology service in Tasmania before relocating to Perth.

His expertise covers the full spectrum of rhythm management, including complex catheter ablation, the implantation of pacemakers, cardiac resynchronisation (CRT) and defibrillation (ICD) devices. His clinical practice is defined by a commitment to innovation; as an early adopter of leadless pacemakers, conduction system pacing and pulsed field ablation, he regularly provides expert training to fellow cardiologists in these advanced procedures. He is fully accredited by both the Cardiac Electrophysiology Institute of Australasia and European Heart Rhythm Society for cardiac electrophysiology and implantable devices.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr Lipton is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia and the University of Tasmania. He is deeply committed to global health equity, leading international outreach initiatives to develop sustainable arrhythmia care in resource-limited settings such as Cambodia and Fiji. He also serves on the board of the Mel Scheinman Educational Research Foundation, helping to influence cardiovascular research and education on an international scale.
