Dr Jonathan Teoh is a Cardiologist with a keen interest in general cardiology, chest pain syndromes and ischaemic heart disease, atrial fibrillation, complex valvular disease (e.g. mitral regurgitation and aortic stenosis) and heart failure/cardiomyopathies. His subspecialty is Clinical Echocardiography and is thus an expert in echocardiographic assessment of structural heart disease, stress echocardiography and performance of transoesophageal echocardiograms (TOE’s).
Dr Teoh completed his original medical training (MBBS) in 2003 at The University of Western Australia and undertook his basic physician training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Following this, he completed Cardiology Advanced training at Sir Charles Gairdner and Fremantle Hospitals. He undertook a 6-month Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Subsequently, Dr Teoh travelled to Boston to complete a two-year fellowship as a Clinical and Research Fellow in Advanced Echocardiography at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School. He returned thereafter as a Consultant Cardiologist at Joondalup Health Campus with a current appointment as the Director of Echocardiography. He also holds an adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer position at the University of Western Australia, School of Medicine. He has been heavily involved and is still currently active in academic research.
He currently consults at Joondalup rooms with a very short waiting time and has admitting rights for public and private patients at both Joondalup Health Campus and Joondalup Private Hospital.
