Dr Joseph Smith is a Canberra born Orthopaedic Surgeon with advanced training in knee and shoulder surgery. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2003. After successfully completing his training in Orthopaedic Surgery in NSW and the ACT he was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011.

His post-fellowship training then followed in the field of knee and shoulder surgery and trauma surgery. This allowed him to develop a high level of expertise in these fields that he provides to his patients at Canberra Orthopaedics.

Dr Smith operates in both public and private hospitals. He has official appointments at The Canberra Hospital, Calvary Public Hospital, Calvary John James Hospital and National Capital Private Hospital. He is an active member of the trauma roster at The Canberra Hospital.
