Dr Jothi Murugesan

Dr Jothi Murugesan is an Australian trained General & Colorectal Surgeon.

Jothi undertook his surgical training at St George & Liverpool Hospital. He pursued two further years of advanced training in Colorectal surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney, Australia) &  St James’s University Hospital (Leeds, United Kingdom).

Jothi performs surgery for both general surgical conditions and colorectal disorders. He has training in advanced laparoscopic surgery and is able to perform surgery using minimally invasive techniques. Jothi has also received training in robotic surgery. He also performs gastroscopies and colonoscopies and is accredited by Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA). All his cancer patients are discussed at the Liverpool-Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre and Norwest Private Hospital Colorectal Multidisciplinary team meetings.

Jothi has completed a Masters of Surgery (Colorectal Surgery) at the University of Sydney and has a strong interest in medical education and research. He has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and several presentations at local and international surgical conferences.
