Dr Julian Ip

Dr Julian Ip is a Colorectal and General Surgeon. He focusses on surgery of the small and large bowel, rectum and anus. He also has interests in trauma and acute surgical emergencies and expertise in other general surgical conditions such as hernias and gallstones. He is fully accredited in gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Ip received his qualifications in Medical Science and Medicine at the University of Sydney and undertook his specialist general surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital. Dr Ip subsequently attained Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He consequently pursued post-Fellowship training with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), receiving further advanced training over two years at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth.

Dr Ip has a particular interest in advanced surgical techniques such as laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for conditions of the small and large intestine including colorectal cancer, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis) and diverticular disease. He is also experienced in managing conditions of the rectum and anus such as constipation and diarrhoea, prolapse, haemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal fistula.
